Tasslehoff: And hey--she cast that spell without using those funny words. Why can't you do that, all-powerful mage?
Raistlin: She's channeling the power of a god, you dolt. I'm wresting arcane energies from the very fabric of the universe, it's completely different.
From Dragons of Autumn Twilight
Hehehe i had a talk with Alandri this morning.
She had some interesting things to say.
It just occurred to me that if we are going to have spell points and such that it would be kinda nice if the new hud or meter somehow recorded them for us. If such is possible perhaps the use of the hud could be limited once the points are used up. That would definiately save the task of tracking our points.
That is.. if we are going to have points at all. From what i can see mages don't have those, nor do they have a spell list. So other than keeping track of what we can do, why even have a spell list if mages are not required to have one? Who is to limit the creativity of the gods after all?
*Laughs* Just kidding. We dont really want to be mages or we would have entered the mages guild instead. Still...

False Alarm...
... I guess. I dont know what happened earlier when i could not get on here at work.
I supposed i paniced unnecessarily. Any time a virus is mentioned i get scared. Now it is not my break time and i cant really say much more.
Hopefully later i can give an update.

Cleric's Guild
My friend Alphonsus has introduced me to a land called Faeria and i found out that i could display my art there. So i was finding out all about what i would need to do for that.
When i was visiting there we had another visitor, a very special visitor. Her name was JewelFire. I was told that she had terminal cancer. The person was simply an inspiration. She was so happy it seemed just to be there. I took some pictures of her, knowing somehow i would never see her again. Little did i know, for the next morning the first news i found out was that she had passed away that night after leaving us, when she was still online. It just reminds me how fleeting and impermanent are we all.. like a flickering candle.
That day in Faeria there was a day long service for her. The fountain had a platform on it with a beautiful picture of her avatar. Music a friend wrote, inspired by JewelFire was played all day. It really is a reminder that behind every avatar there is a real person. I am sorry i did not know her better. I am sorry that although i tried to give her a dragonride i was so inexperienced at doing that that the ride was not that good.. and i ended up crashing. I felt very inadequate, but she was very grateful all the same.
Anyway i really didnt feel like even thinking about an art show that day.
Tuesday night on second life the queen of Triskele delivered the clerics guild, a huge beautiful stone building built like a large church. It is magnificent! Such a beautiful building! Immediately we looked through it, planning where things would go.
After some discussion and both other speakers left, i started building. I rarely build in second life, in fact aside from some initial attempts and a bottle, this was the first time trying architecture. This turned out to be fun and a challenge. We needed a private enclosure on the first floor for the healers area.
We also had to consider that weddings in second life are a big business. Wren noticed that there is a space under the stairs that seemed a bit out of the way, so i started building walls to enclose it. Later Wren added archways for the doors, which i have not yet learned to do.
After getting a good start, i informed the queen that we had added to the building and made sure she knew we meant no offense for this. She replied no offense was taken, that we should modify it as we need and gave me a couple textures she had used for the stonework. I have continued to build using the textures and made sure that both Wren and Alphonsus could modify my work if need be.
Wren has added a floor above the healers area as a library and is working on putting furniture in, so this is really starting to shape up. Building in second life is a lot of fun, and who knows i may get hooked. *grins*
Wednesday night i started setting up my art show. Its mostly my dragons done in photoshop. I was given this huge stone wall to dispay on and by the time i finished its was pretty much filled. The show on Sunday should be interesting. I will be sending notecards out to my friends about it.
Thursday night i allowed myself to be persuaded to participate in the archery tournement. After such a long time without any practice that was a big mistake. I was totally slaughtered within a minute of the first 2 rounds. The other person kept saying she had lag but she was all over me. I could hardly move. *Sighs*
Anyway i soothed my bruised ego by searching the sims for the lost scrolls and found 2.

I feel like such a fool sometimes.
I wonder at the trust that people place in me. Looking back at the last council meeting i think i should be a good second and keep my mouth shut as i am supposed to.
Sometimes i just dont think which makes me much less considerate than i would like to be.
I made a To Do List to consolidate all the things i am trying to get done. This is one that is not in world and it has quite a few documents and notes in one place. Actually using this negates the need to have so many notes in my inventory. Now if only i could figure out how to create book marks in MS Word. Please forgive the out of character nature of this post.
My main concern is managing the meeting among the race leaders and Sierra so that we may gather the information for the combat meter. I am still uncertain where we can have it and am having second thoughts about having it in the dragon temple. I will try to get that worked out once i am in world this weekend.

Malakyte's Realm
For any who might be interested in Malakyte's adventures in another life, i have added a link to my role-play journal before second life. It is called Malakyte's realm.
It includes notes on a realm of my own creation called Island Mignar as well as the happenings there.
Although i havent really kept it up to date recently, except for "The Rescue" and the most recent of "DragonLance" posts, it will show some of the happenings in the life of the other Malakyte. The posts are ordered from the past to most recent events. For the earliest stories you will have to go to previous entries, perhaps several times.
Unfortunately a few stories are not finished though most are in an ongoing sort of way. If you read them i hope you enjoy them as much as i have. My thanks to the numerous friends who have contributed to the writings with their own characters.
