Lost dragons

Well by the meeting i guess the dragons can be in one other race. That is what i was told in the Council meeting so i will have to manage the dragons with that. *shrugs* i will deal with it.

I just realized how many core dragons are missing.

Oedipus
Petunia
Rosa
Sapphira
Scooter
Scott
SnowBlind
and yes... even
Slade

They didn't role-play all the time and are not the only dragons who have never role-played in Sylvhara but they were a presence in Triskele. I just wonder if there will ever be as many dragons again. And if i can keep the dragons a desirable group now.

Still working things out

Well the second Archer/Dragon hunt has happened though it was not nearly as well attended as the first.. at least it didn't seem so. The Alliance dragon hunt happens this Sunday so we will see what happens with that since only 2 native Sylvhara dragons attended the question and answer class for it.. plus some from Triskele. It may not be as big of an event that we all hope but we will see.

The Weyr did arrive just as promised and the first role-play has happened already, though it was not planned or approved by the council. Dorian asked me if it was ok and i, thinking it would only be a small and more personal role-play approved it. But it turned into a nearly realm wide event starting out with a search for a false crystal that ended up in a nearly disastrous battle with zombies in overwhelming numbers.

I had my class with the Power of Light group and have come to the conclusion i would rather use my breath weapon any day than that expensive druids staff which takes forever to kill a zombie. I think weak as it is, the breath weapon takes maybe 5 good hits to kill a zombie. Perhaps i will just stay dragon for any role-play and heaven help me if i am stuck as a biped during an invasion. As a druid i have spells that are offensive but only spot healing power. The alternative is to change Thubanism to being a deity based religion and that would defeat its whole purpose. So i guess at least for this realm i am stuck as a druid.

I suppose this makes me no better than those who don't really want to use the dragons tools. I was going to complain about them here but i really have no right to talk. Everyone wants to keep that which is familiar to them.

If they fight better as a mage or whatever then i guess they should continue the way they are. My main concern lately is trying to keep the same standards and rules for the dragons without the support of the overlying realm rules we had before.

Mostly i can manage the dragons just with the dragon rules but the one thing that has popped up lately is the issue of having more than one race. This was never a problem in Triskele since we had the one race rule. Everyone accepted it and no one ever felt excluded because that was a given from the beginning. In Sylvhara all the rules we had except for the most obvious are nonexistant. So if i say one can be of mixed blood but must be at least half dragon and if they want to belong to the dragon group they must be only dragon as their race, i am viewed as excluding them, not allowing them to participate in as many races as they want. This is what they are used to.

But the way i run the dragons is on loyalty also. If someone belongs to more than one race how can they be expected to operate with undivided loyalty? The dragons are loyal to the queen but also to themselves as a clan. There are things that are set up as quest rewards that those who are not dragons should not have. Things which were made just for dragons. Usually once someone is a dragon they stay a dragon, but if someone has their first loyalty to another race then what is to keep them from acquiring the dragon items and then quitting the group?

These are things, made by others which i have been entrusted not to give out freely to just anyone. I cannot break my trust so probably will not be able to use them as i have planned.

I have no problem with those who claim to have mixed blood though i have been accused of excluding them. In truth i had no idea who had mixed blood. My only requirement in terms of blood to belong to the dragons is that they have at least half dragon blood. And even if they are half dragon i would prefer they choose the race they have the most loyalty to. As a matter of fact i have only had one person who complained. None of the other dragons complained about the way i lead, though i was told that was because they didn't want to upset me.

As far as i know i also have the Queen's support 100% in the way i run this group. She is the one i have promised my loyalty to (or will officially when the ceremony happens) and she is the one that will say if and how i rule the dragons. As far as i know she is pleased with the way the dragons are. But to keep them as they are i need the tools to manage them as i have been, including the rules that were laid as the foundation of the group, which include some of the old rules from Triskele.

I know that changes are hard to do, that includes me also. I will try to be as flexible as possible for those who are native to Sylvhara. I have not required them to change at all actually and they can keep what race groups they already have. I see no reason though to change any rules for newcomers to the dragons or for those who already are members. This is something i will look at closely. Perhaps there is another way, but i simply do not see it.

I am willing for my eyes to be opened.

Dragon/Archer hunt

Well things have been working out with the new realm despite all my doubts and fears. The Archer/Dragon Hunt Monday night was a great success! It seemed most who participated had a great time.

Plans are underway for the move at the beginning of the year, and hopefully we will have our old dragon weyr back. I need to get busy not only on quests, but also roleplay classes as well as flight and combat classes.

These last few weeks it seems as though SL is taking over my whole life and i really need to spend more of my time and attention on family and looking for a job. So with the success of the hunt, i am hoping that things will settle down to more of a regular schedule.

There is still work to do but i think the hunt is pretty much set up for its old time slot so i can get back to my old schedule.

Currently we are looking for some role-play ideas to get that started in the realm.

Some Questions

Triskele is gone. The one sim may still be there but the realm as we know is has sunk into the sea. Or rather some of the sims have gone to Sylvhara and Arda. This will be obvious to anyone familiar with the maps of Triskele if they look to the east of Menegroth and the dark realm of Arda (i cant ever remember its name). I have been told that the landmarks for those sims still work by the way.

Its been almost 11 months for me in Triskele. It is harder this time. In Everwind there was not so much of me involved. This time there were quests and items i had built all over the place. I had a lot of time and effort in this. Of course it really is nobodies fault. I guess i was just depressed to see it essentially stripped, not by the owner but by the people who used to be there. And yes i know, i have taken my stuff too.

The search for a new home went well. We visited realms, met, narrowed the choices down and then visited again and chose Sylvhara. Some people did not hear what we were doing until the end and there were some hurt feelings i had to apologize for.

Sylvhara does seem the best choice as we have been told that we can move there and keep our groups essentially as is. The Queen has been most welcoming and accommodating to us all along.

I do worry though. Some have said we will just be absorbed by the existing groups there. Some of our people do not seem to really care but others do. I have also noticed some major discrepancies with the rules too. Many questions remain, hopefully to be answered in the next council meeting.

The main one is, will role play in the realm be controlled by the Alliance rules?

Another question; Will combat be allowed within Sylvhara that does not include intersim combat?

I do need to talk to the person who can clarify these things for me.

Or hopefully they will be cleared up in the meeting.

The end... maybe

Well i have no idea how things can get so totally screwed up. There was this life and death tug of war it seems over the realm and right now I have no idea who to believe.

The buyer backed out. That is certain. One story says she is a cooperate pirate, a headhunter and was only out to take the people.. the groups. Another story is that she truly believed our realm was about to die and generously offered her sims for free if the people would come to her sims and settle to pay tier. She would give every race a sim and have free room for the guilds.

There was a meeting where some bad things were said of the buyer and someone took a log and gave that log to her. Now she will have nothing to do with us... or role-play or even anything medieval.

Who is right.. who can i trust? There is no proof that one is right and the other wrong that i can see. I expressed doubts in that meeting that i hadn't before.. Things didnt seem right to me..there was other partners we had not met.. that seemed an obvious source of uncertainty. Why was she cutting back and so very concerned about the money when she had said how very rich she was in the beginning.. but we didn't want to mess up the sale by asking her. They seemed to be legitimate questions to me... *sighs* These are things she read and things others said that were much crueler. I am surprised i am still on her friends list. I expect to be taken off any time.

Now we are being asked to commit to the realm. We are being asked if we will stay there to make the new plan work.

How can i make that kind of decision when i don't know what to base it on? I gave my word that i would stay. But i have lost several friends tonight.. and i am totally heartsick. I was never going to get in this kind of situation again.. and yet here i am.

My mind says its time to go back and deal with things in the real world since this is even more painful than reality. I just really want to disassociate myself with all the hateful things going on. I don't want to be a part of it anymore but i gave my word.

What will the wise dragon do? I have no idea. But i know she would probably fly away from all the accusations flying back and forth. But really there is nowhere to fly to.

As much as i can remember i have been taking my prims back. I got the mer sim, and the dark realm tonight... the quest cave that i had dreamed of so much.. Its all on a water sim and thus is slated to be dropped. Then i started with the old clerics guild. All the quest objects i had made for the clerics quest and the building that Wren, Alphonsus and i had done to make the little infirmary. *sighs* Who could have seen it would end this way?

I am half tempted to just take everything of mine, all the stuff on the weyr too. Just to leave the place clean of me and go somewhere to make a new start. In any event i wont be seen by those people who hate me now. I don't want to be seen by anyone.

Realm for Sale

That which i would not say is now common knowledge.

The realm of Triskele is for sale.

It seems at times as though the whole realm is holding its breath, waiting for something.. for word of a buyer.. the next owner. There are evenings where no one is in the realm at all but for me, and i not for long.

I suspect that many of us are out looking for other options, other land and other realms.

Some options have been found. Indeed it seems there might even be a couple buyers out there also, brave souls willing to buy 8 sims all together as is, builds, groups and all. Though what those buyers will do with the realm after purchase is still up for speculation and if we the roleplayers of the realm would get along with them and what they choose is another matter entirely, also up for speculation.

Of course much speculation is pretty useless aside from the purpose of realizing the possibilities. In which case we should continue with plan B just in case.

Plan B is finding either a new sim ready and willing to accept us as is.. or new land which people, members of the realm will buy and others will pay teir on. This has the feature of perhaps being a smaller realm and one that perhaps we might be able to have a say on its features as well as our organizational structure and rules. I know there is at least one, called Northfarthing that is a good possibility as long as it is not rented before we get there.

Plan C is actually the least likely i believe; that Triskele as we know it will be gone and that no one buys a new sim or for some reason we do not move to a new sim ready to take us in.

Should such a condition exist we as a group would try to find an already existing role-play realm and join, trying to integrate ourselves in as smoothly as possible. Of course the last plan would most likely cause the most fragmentation of the original group since not everyone would agree as to which realm we should move to. There are many, many realms out there as i have found in my own search.

Also if such a thing were to happen nearly every one would be forced not only to give up their identity as a Triskilion as well as current offices, but would most likely have to use new huds (for those who have them), new meters and weapons. A mixed blessing, for those who have a lot of lindens invested in safe zone weapons this would be a pain.

I have investigated some smaller realms myself but they have the disadvantage of either not having dragons as a race or they have severe restrictions on dragons, such as no flying during combat or no flying at all. Obviously such realms are out of the question for both myself and the Dragons of Triskele as well as our fae cousins.

One realm.. or rather 2 i have been impressed with for the dragons is Karamoon/Ravenscraig. It is actually 2 realms in physical contact with each other. Travel and role-play between the two is open and unrestricted. Karamoon has a large and rather powerful dragon group while Ravenscraig's dragon group is rather small and just starting to be developed. The Karamoon group does have the advantage of being able to do combat not only in flight but as i understand it, with a rider as well. There is also a dragon riders group which spans both realms.

When i was there it seemed there was people in one of the 2 realms at all times. I have heard that the realms are rather violent though i have not seen any of this myself. I also have heard that though it is kept hidden, there are slaves in the realm, though they are not gorean sims.

There is a rather complex meter and hud where your character can develop the traits you want it to. I have heard that after the third or forth level you have to pay lindens to advance. There is a bit of a disadvantage for the dragons in that you cannot continuously fly. After a while your health starts suffering but it regenerates quickly if you land. This has the interesting consequence in that flying from one place to another is rather tricky if you do not know the realm and do not wish to land among strangers.

Personally if it was just me as an individual i would probably go there. But for the dragons and in fact the whole realm my first choice is to go wherever everyone else goes, hopefully nowhere but our own home of Triskele.

Did you ever feel like such a total idiot. Perhaps its the upset of all that is going on now.. that which i don't think it is appropriate to speak of here. Just when things seemed to be working out... I am after 10 months nearly finished with all the quests, and all the dragon clans have their leaders and i finally have a second.

It seems things are falling apart, but we shall see. Perhaps not all is lost.

Anyway aside from the almost accomplishments, not much has been happening with the dragons. The creatures most call teardrops are still about, and hopefully will be eliminated by the end of the month, but we shall see about that. We have some new dragons in the realm and then there is the harvest festival also to be celebrated with many exciting things that will be happening.
