Realm for Sale

That which i would not say is now common knowledge.

The realm of Triskele is for sale.

It seems at times as though the whole realm is holding its breath, waiting for something.. for word of a buyer.. the next owner. There are evenings where no one is in the realm at all but for me, and i not for long.

I suspect that many of us are out looking for other options, other land and other realms.

Some options have been found. Indeed it seems there might even be a couple buyers out there also, brave souls willing to buy 8 sims all together as is, builds, groups and all. Though what those buyers will do with the realm after purchase is still up for speculation and if we the roleplayers of the realm would get along with them and what they choose is another matter entirely, also up for speculation.

Of course much speculation is pretty useless aside from the purpose of realizing the possibilities. In which case we should continue with plan B just in case.

Plan B is finding either a new sim ready and willing to accept us as is.. or new land which people, members of the realm will buy and others will pay teir on. This has the feature of perhaps being a smaller realm and one that perhaps we might be able to have a say on its features as well as our organizational structure and rules. I know there is at least one, called Northfarthing that is a good possibility as long as it is not rented before we get there.

Plan C is actually the least likely i believe; that Triskele as we know it will be gone and that no one buys a new sim or for some reason we do not move to a new sim ready to take us in.

Should such a condition exist we as a group would try to find an already existing role-play realm and join, trying to integrate ourselves in as smoothly as possible. Of course the last plan would most likely cause the most fragmentation of the original group since not everyone would agree as to which realm we should move to. There are many, many realms out there as i have found in my own search.

Also if such a thing were to happen nearly every one would be forced not only to give up their identity as a Triskilion as well as current offices, but would most likely have to use new huds (for those who have them), new meters and weapons. A mixed blessing, for those who have a lot of lindens invested in safe zone weapons this would be a pain.

I have investigated some smaller realms myself but they have the disadvantage of either not having dragons as a race or they have severe restrictions on dragons, such as no flying during combat or no flying at all. Obviously such realms are out of the question for both myself and the Dragons of Triskele as well as our fae cousins.

One realm.. or rather 2 i have been impressed with for the dragons is Karamoon/Ravenscraig. It is actually 2 realms in physical contact with each other. Travel and role-play between the two is open and unrestricted. Karamoon has a large and rather powerful dragon group while Ravenscraig's dragon group is rather small and just starting to be developed. The Karamoon group does have the advantage of being able to do combat not only in flight but as i understand it, with a rider as well. There is also a dragon riders group which spans both realms.

When i was there it seemed there was people in one of the 2 realms at all times. I have heard that the realms are rather violent though i have not seen any of this myself. I also have heard that though it is kept hidden, there are slaves in the realm, though they are not gorean sims.

There is a rather complex meter and hud where your character can develop the traits you want it to. I have heard that after the third or forth level you have to pay lindens to advance. There is a bit of a disadvantage for the dragons in that you cannot continuously fly. After a while your health starts suffering but it regenerates quickly if you land. This has the interesting consequence in that flying from one place to another is rather tricky if you do not know the realm and do not wish to land among strangers.

Personally if it was just me as an individual i would probably go there. But for the dragons and in fact the whole realm my first choice is to go wherever everyone else goes, hopefully nowhere but our own home of Triskele.

Did you ever feel like such a total idiot. Perhaps its the upset of all that is going on now.. that which i don't think it is appropriate to speak of here. Just when things seemed to be working out... I am after 10 months nearly finished with all the quests, and all the dragon clans have their leaders and i finally have a second.

It seems things are falling apart, but we shall see. Perhaps not all is lost.

Anyway aside from the almost accomplishments, not much has been happening with the dragons. The creatures most call teardrops are still about, and hopefully will be eliminated by the end of the month, but we shall see about that. We have some new dragons in the realm and then there is the harvest festival also to be celebrated with many exciting things that will be happening.

Bored

So the realm is nearly empty and those who are there are couples, people who are together working on things, discussing things that are not my business or possibly at parties that i have left in the hopes of getting something done. Even though there are people on my friends list who are online, there is literally nothing to talk about. And here i did have all evening to be here.

Am i getting burned out? Hard to say. I am not in a very creative mood right now. Perhaps i should have stayed at the parties i was at.. but i was not really being talked to by many of the people there anyway.. even old friends were not talking to me and it was not as much fun. By now they are probably over anyway.

I guess i could go shopping or exploring or just play Onigokko just for the hell of it. I should have played that at the parties..

*stares at a line of apples*

Edit: Well the evening did turn out to be much more interesting. Pak called me and we ended up playing a lively game of dragon tag. Then i noticed a gathering near the Citadel of Light and on my way over an old friend from Everwind called up to me. She was back (for now) though as a Mer instead of a dragon, so we ended up talking.

It seems much is happening in the realm. Bri said his goodbyes and left, and while flying around i noticed people who were gone from their land and others who had taken over land. It seems a Mer city is springing up.

I suppose from time to time those doldrums hit and the thing to do is just ride them through.

Thanks

... to the King for the link:

Though its supposed to say Dark Realm of Triskele. By the way, the crown like structure that is the highest on the mountain with the light in the middle is a modified part of the dragon altar i created for the realm. Unfortunately in this video you cant really see most of the work that i did.

Edit: Hehehehe and in all fairness i will post the link to my first realm;

Fire Quest

I am happy to congratulate Pak Haedong and Slade Sommerfleck, our Mystic of Dragons and Elder of the Moon as having completed the fire quest along with members of the fighters guild.

Now there are several more dragons that are eligible to do the fire quest, so we wait for more fighters to also be ready for that test.

Also after long thinking it over i have also made Illuvyan Benelli the new Elder of the Sun. We only await the ceremony on Thursday to make it official.

I also wish to welcome Daemynn Felisimo back to the clerics. She who had done much for our guild has returned to us as a full cleric, a person sorely needed in the guild since only Cora and myself were the only full clerics previously.

This is an exciting time for Triskele. There is a grave threat to the realm but also plans for a treaty that will unify all the guilds and races. Even the clerics are to have their role and i suspect the mages will as well.

As race leader of the dragons i need to record the strengths of my race so that we may be utilized to greatest advantage in the upcoming battles.

In the mean time i do need to talk with Pak to get working on the Air quest, something i suspect might be a bit more difficult than the others.

Ignored?

What does one do when ignored? I thought to create a story for the clerics, something that would demonstrate the power of a cleric and perhaps generate interest. I thought to make it fun so that people would want to play. But considering its nature to grow, i figured that perhaps i should ask the council.

I did ask and was met by total silence so far. No one has said one way or another what they think of it. In fact when the queen asked me to explain about it, someone else was talking while i was trying to say what i had to say. Soooo does it merrit even asking about? I wonder if its so below everyones attention if i should just go ahead with it. No one has said no..

Even when i asked if i should have said anything in the meeting no one said yes or no. I did my best and created all this food for a feast.. so now i wonder if its all down the drain? Is this how things are discouraged here? We were looking forward to getting this thing started right away. So do i go ahead and assume since no one has spoken one way or other that its not important enough for them to bother with? If its not that important then i should just go ahead with it. But why could i not even get a yea or nae from someone?

My guess is that its just such a horrible idea that no one wants to even talk about it. I am beginning to wonder if thats the way they all feel about the clerics guild since any attempts to revive it seem to be met with similar reactions.

New dragons & weyr

Much has happened since the last time i posted here. We have admitted several new dragons and lost one as well.

Of those just starting are Christine Bourgoin, Magni Fhang, Malygos Oryl and Shade Seoung.

I wish to congratulate Cora Heslop for completing the fire quest and Pak Haedong for completing the new water quest. Pak will be doing his fire quest soon as well as perhaps another dragon. I am still working the details out.

I must thank Queen Leanne as well as Illuvyan for our beautiful new weyr! The dragons truly have a new home in Triskele now.

Things done since last post;

I have made good use of the new weyr, making sure all the previous items are set up there. This includes the meter dispenser, breath weapon, book of the dragon clan, the quest that Bri created for newcomers and the dragon library.

I have also completed setting up the water and earth quests and the set up for the fire quests, getting information and volunteers who will assist in that quest as each is a planned event. I have set up an orb that will be the dispenser of all the quests save for Bri's Dragon Scroll quest.

The next quest to work on setting up is the air quest which i am working on with Pak.

Aside from that i also have a Journeyman to Clerics quest in the works as well as a role-play designed to involve the realm, perhaps for weeks. Though the RP will likely be a bit slow, hopefully it will involve more than a few as well as bring the Clerics Guild to the realms attention.

There will be two more fire quests, though i am running out of dragons to do them at the moment. I am also making some changes to the dragons instructions, one of which is to assist the other player and work together in completing the quest, something that was dropped out of the last fire quest.

One note of sadness, it seems that the dark queen left the realm. I do owe much to her since she has assisted in incorporating dragon lore into the dark realm and was willing to allow the quest site cave there also. She has been very diligent in arranging the battle for the drum circle which happened today. Unfortunately she left right before the battle or it probably would not have turned out as it did.

When it came down to the time for the battle, it was 5 from the dark realm against about 30 very organized members of the light realm. I, always the one wishing to see balance, volunteered to assist the dark realm this time.

Of the battle i can only say that my breath weapon worked perhaps 10% of the time that i could see. I ended up using my claws and flying around at ground level..taking out the light realm warriors that way. I didn't realize it at the time but it was a good strategy since the bipeds ended up shooting each other when trying to hit me.

For the first time in character in Triskele i ended up getting captured but was soon released. It was great fun and would be wonderful if more role-plays like this were planned.
